Jeremiah 30:17 Veterans Week

But I will restore you to health
and heal your wounds,’

During the height of the pandemic, a special monument opened in Washington DC. There were no crowds or speeches. No pomp or circumstance. Just quiet and solitude in a forgotten river bottom.
It was the monument to Native American veterans. Native people of this land have always volunteered to stand in the gap as warriors. But this is not a monument to fighting, it is a monument to healing.
Our veterans need healing. Suicide is a leading cause of death among veterans. Those who served still struggle to find healing. We lay our heads down in peace at nigh because they stood in the gap for us.
This monument is a place of healing--not just for Native veterans--but for all people. It will be formally dedicated tomorrow, and celebrated this weekend.
Many of my Native American veteran friends will be there. But people of all nations will be welcome. Not just veterans, but all who seek healing.
Join us in prayers for healing--for the veterans--and for all the people they served.
