Psalm 30:5

Darkness may come for the night
But joy comes in the morning
--------
Ancient people knew that the end of October was a thin place
A time when the veil between this life and the next is porous
They celebrated with bonfires and masquerades and mischief
The early church couldn't stop the celebrations
After all, Halloween is a lot of fun
But after the night of darkness comes the real celebration
Tomorrow is All Saints Day
The sun will come up
And the children of light will be victorious over the darkness
So have fun tonight
But remember
Real joy comes in the morning
