Apprentices learn by watching the master craftsperson or tradesperson, until it becomes reflex to think like the master.
What would you think about an apprentice carpenter who never feels comfortable trying to drive a nail? One who prefers to just watch others who are more qualified? Aren't disciples also expected to learn by doing?
